Company launches with the TCP-CG walk behind
R-Mac Sales and Leasing places 16 tie plugging machines in operation with the Union Pacific Railroad.
Rail seat abrasion repair epoxy for concrete ties
In conjunction with CSX Transportation Company, R-Mac develops the EPM2000 epoxy application system. The EPM greatly increases production, safety and consistency.
RTP: The first ride-on tie plugger
The RTP revolutionizes the chemical tie plugging process. Union Pacific Railroad awards R-Mac a 3-year contract to provide all chemical tie plugging material and machines for their rail and curve gangs.
First spike kill hole repair machine for tie gangs
Working with Union Pacific, R-Mac develops the TPI-TG. It’s the first tie plugging machine to be used by tie gangs to repair versus replace crossties with spike kill holes. Union Pacific takes delivery of 24 TPI-TG’s.
Expansion into Canada
Canadian National Railway begins using R-Mac’s RTP tie pluggers on rail gangs in Eastern Canada.
UP orders more machines
Union Pacific Railroad leases 11 more TPI-TG tie plugging machines.
Encore Rail Systems, Inc.
R-Mac is purchased by Chicago-based Steelhead Corporation and is renamed Encore Rail Systems.
The next generation RTP
The RTP now features the industry’s first horizontally moveable propulsion tracks to address ballast and bridge deck inconsistencies. 23 machines are placed in operation with Union Pacific Railroad.
RTP DUO repairs both wood and concrete crossties
The RTP DUO gives rail gangs the ability to repair both wood and concrete crossties using a single application machine.
SpeedSet™ Epoxy Curing System
Encore launches the revolutionary and patented SpeedSet Epoxy curing system that dramatically reduces the curing time of epoxies used for rail seat abrasion repair.
CN standardizes with Encore
Encore provides 7 TPI-TG tie pluggers and chemicals for all Canadian National Railway system mega tie gangs.
